Early XK like the rest of their suspension was a direct from USA design and were quickly discarded as too light and failing in use.

Prior to chassis # 4R 1-62 66654 Broadmeadows plant or 4B 1-62 34 Brisbane plant.

They used a 9/16” or 5/8” shaft diameter up until Ford dropped the lower arm using the BJ11 type ball joint. It was common practice in the day to enlarge the sub frame hole and fit the C2DA 3468 A strut from the later XK and XL model with the 11/16” shaft and matching bush and sleeve (this is what we sell as SBBK1A)Early Falcon strut bars are threaded and allow some adjustment XM – XP Type are slightly larger in diameter and are fixed, not allowing adjustment.
