Have you ever had a problem with the piston in your pressure differential valve moving off-center while bleeding your brakes, causing your brake system warning light to come on? Here's a tool that you can use to hold the piston in place while bleeding the brakes.

The tool is made from a case-hardened 3/8-24 cap screw in black oxide with a knurled hex head. The end is milled down and a hardened pin is inserted. The tool is 1.5" long with the exposed part of the pin measuring 1/4" long. While specifically designed for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles this tool will fit any valve of similar design with 3/8-24 threads.

Use: Before bleeding the brakes, make sure your piston is centered and remove the brake system warning light switch. Install the tool in its place using no more than finger pressure. Bleed the brakes and make sure all of the bleeder valves are closed when finished. Remove the tool, replace the light switch, and install the wiring for the switch.

Note that your valve's internal seals have failed if any fluid leaks from the switch port. If that happens you need one of our rebuild kits!
