A remanufactured starter motor is not just a used part — it’s a unit that has been completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, repaired, and rebuilt to meet the same specifications as a brand-new (OEM) starter motor.

During the remanufacturing process, all worn, damaged, or outdated components (such as brushes, bushings, solenoids, bearingsand even the case) are replaced with brand new parts.

The starter motor is then reassembled and thoroughly tested to ensure it delivers the same performance and reliability as a new unit.

Key Points:

  • Not the same as “used” → Used starter motors are sold as-is with no work done. (and in many cases no warranty)

  • Not the same as “rebuilt” → A rebuilt starter motor may only have the broken component replaced, whereas a remanufactured starter motor is fully stripped, rebuilt, and restored to “like new” condition.

  • Often comes with a warranty → Because they’re carefully tested, remanufactured starter motors usually include a manufacturer’s 3 month warranty.

  • Eco-friendly → Remanufacturing reuses the main housing and core materials, reducing waste and providing a more sustainable option compared to buying new.
