3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Fuel Resistant Coating EC-776 is a general purpose, solvent based adhesive coating that provides good adhesion to synthetic rubber, metal, glass and many plastics. Our fuel and oil resistant elastomer based coating provides good flexibility, retaining its flexibility across a range of temperatures.

It’s an ideal solution to protect many aircraft components that come in contact with aviation fuel. Protects vulnerable components against failure due to fuel exposure.  Additionally, the fill and drain method, will coat aluminum or steel fuel tanks.  Certain additives and other chemicals in aviation fuels can increase the erosion of the fuel tank top coats inside the fuel tank. Furthermore, inner fuel tank coatings can peel and generate chips and particles that clog engine fuel filters, increasing maintenance costs and prolonging aircraft down times.  However, using 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Fuel Resistant Coating EC-776 can help reduce periodic fuel tank maintenance requirements, costs and downtime.

EC-776 Fuel Resistant Coating was engineered to meet customer specification requirements for performance and flexibility in the aerospace industry. Under normal atmospheric conditions this coating becomes tack free in about 20 minutes and should thoroughly dry in approximately 24 hours. It may be applied by brush or flow applicator depending on the needs of your process.
