I don't know what it is about the Australian Mustang aftermarket industry, but exhaust manufacturers seem to think that we all want 4 into 1 headers for our cars that don't often turn much harder than 4500-5000 RPM. C'mon guys, its a 289 with an Erson RV-10 - We don't need headers designed for 3500+. Can you imagine my excitement when I rang these fine folks and asked if they had a set of right-hand drive, Tri-Y headers for the old-man's taxi, and they said "Yeah, we sure as $#!+ do! * " (*Not an actual quote). "Send 'em up!" I cheered, while dancing in a spritely manner around the workshop. (The neighbours are still giving me weird looks...). A few days later, they arrived at my humble little hick-shack in rural Queensland. Well packed and undamaged. No gaskets, but, I ordered headers; Not headers and gaskets. ;) Good build quality, finished in a metallic kinda blue paint. Probably gonna have them ceramic coated at some stage, but I'll wait for them to burn off a bit before I do that. Bolted them up and checked clearances; Not too bad, to be honest. Plenty of space to get the bolts in and I could even use my small 3/8 air ratchet on most of them. The only thing I had to do was give the Driver's side pipe a bit of therapy with the gas-axe and swing-press where it went past the steering box. Nothing major, and to be honest, it was probably only about 5mm that was needed to give it some breathing space, but I gave it a little bit more, just for good measure. Passenger side fitted up pretty damn good, too, although my idler arm juuuuuuust touches at full left lock. Your mileage may vary. Decent quality pipe means that under bonnet noise has dropped dramatically after removing the thin-walled 4 into 1 pipes that were on it. Overall, I'm really happy with them and grateful that I didn't have to fork-out for a set of customs. With the variety of conversions around, we really can't expect these things to fit every vehicle perfectly, but if your 66 has the early Falcon steering box and a semi-decent conversion, you should be good to go. Top marks for product, and service.
